No partner is needed either for the group classes or private lessons.  We encourage all students in the group classes to rotate so they get the benefit of dancing with people who have different levels of experience and different connection.  For private lessons, the instructor understands both the leader and follower parts, so can dance with either.  However, if you do come with a partner, it gives you someone you can practice with outside of the lessons.
